Ways to order

Find your favourite vendors whichever way suits you

Scan the code on their counter, look them up in Explore, or order in a WhatsApp chat. Take whichever is easiest from where you are standing: it is the same live menu, the same kitchen queue and the same collection code.

The code in front of you

Stalls, tables, hatches and wristbands each carry their own code. Point your camera at it and the full menu opens in your browser. Nothing to download, works on every phone.

More than a shortcut

Skipping the queue is just the start

The stalls you order from run their own stamp cards, specials and tabs, and everything you have ever ordered stays in one place.

Stamps that follow your number

Order at your local and the stamps land on their card automatically. No plastic in your wallet, no app to open. When you have earned a free item it is waiting on the menu next time.

Specials worth showing up for

Traders run their own happy hours, combo deals and coupon codes. Whatever you qualify for comes off before you pay, so the price on the screen is the price you are charged.

Open a tab, close it when you leave

Sitting down or working a bar? Staff can run a tab for your table and add rounds as you go, then settle it in one payment with every item listed.

Your usual, in two taps

Every order you have placed stays in one place, so getting the same thing from the same stall next weekend takes seconds instead of a fresh hunt through the menu.

Checkout you can trust

Payments run through established South African providers. Your card details never touch the stall's phone.

Collection you can prove

Your order carries its own code. Staff scan it off your phone at the counter, so your food goes to you and nobody else.

For vendors

Run a busier business

Take orders on the phone in your apron pocket while you focus on the grill. A shorter line is worth money: people who would have walked past a queue stop and order instead. Live by lunchtime, with a full kitchen, stock, and reporting suite waiting when you grow.

Orders the second they pay

Paid orders land on your screen instantly. Accept with a tap and start prepping. No paper tickets.

No extra hardware

Runs on the phone or tablet you already own. Keep your card machine for walk-ups.

R0 setup, R0 monthly

No subscription, no onboarding fee, no lock-in. The per-order fee is the customer's - you keep your sales.

Loyalty and specials built in

Run a stamp card, coupon codes and happy-hour specials from the same console. No second app, no printed cards.

Festivals & markets

Running an event?Put the whole food court on one link

Every stall and bar on one branded page. Visitors order from their phone and skip the queue, your traders sell more, and you drop one link on your posters, tickets and socials.

Ordering, paying and collecting, explained in plain language.

Here are the questions we get asked most.

see how it works

Got a question?

No. Point your camera at the code on the counter, the table or your wristband and the full menu opens in your browser. There is a YesChef app for iPhone and Android if you order often, but it is never required to order or to pay.
Explore is our online food court. It lists the vendors and bars trading around you right now, what is on their menu today, what has sold out and how long the wait is before you walk over. If you are already standing in front of a vendor, scan its code instead and land straight on the menu.
A flat R8 is added when you order and pay through your phone. It is not a percentage of your order and not a cut of your tip, so a big round costs the same to place as a coffee. Order at the counter and pay in person and there is nothing extra to pay.
Tap to pay by card with Apple Pay or Google Pay, or scan to pay from your banking app. Visa, Mastercard, SnapScan and Zapper are all accepted. Payments run through established South African providers, so your card details never touch the vendor's phone.
The vendor accepts your order before you pay anything. If they cannot take it, or nobody gets to it in time, the order simply ends there and no money is taken. You only ever pay for food somebody has already agreed to cook.
We message you on WhatsApp the moment it is up, at no extra cost, and your order page updates live while you wait. Prefer an SMS? A small surcharge covers it. In the app it arrives as a push notification.
Every order carries its own short code. Show it at the counter and staff scan it off your phone, so your food goes to you and nobody else. No queue, no shouting a name over a crowd.
Talk to the vendor first, they can see your order on their screen. If a vendor cannot fulfil an order you have already paid for, they cancel it and the money goes back to the card you paid with. Anything they cannot sort out, our support team can.
No. A mobile number is enough to place an order and collect it. Signing in keeps every order you have placed in one place for reordering, collects the loyalty stamps vendors hand out against your number, and saves your favourite spots.
Vendors run their own specials, coupons and stamp cards. Whatever you qualify for comes off before you pay, so the price on the screen is the price you are charged, and stamps land against your number from your very first order. A full card is a free item from that vendor.
